HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The Wildwood Junior Warriors Youth Football & Cheerleading Association’s goal is to promote youth involvement, good sportsmanship and structure to the children of our community in Grades 1 through 8.   Our vision is to ensure that all youth in our community have the opportunity to participate.

We are excited to tell you that in our 2008 season, we had over 120 children from the Wildwoods involved on our program.  We had over 25 adult volunteers such as coaches, concession stand workers and sideline assistants commit their time and talents to the program.  We had several community business partners assisting in our program through their monetary and/or donation of services, for which we are extremely grateful.  Caring business partners in our community help to enable us to keep our program running as a quality organization.

Last year, all of our children worked hard by their commitment to practice, their teammates and coaches.  Our players and cheerleaders practiced and played in sunshine or rain. The league now consists of over 16 teams from neighboring communities from Cape May County, Cumberland County, Ocean County and Atlantic County.  This is a strong league with our kids competing against squads with 50 to 60 players.  Our kids don’t fear the numbers as they know they’ve worked hard in practice to compete.  These are outstanding accomplishments our youth have made and we look forward to offering them another year of wonderful opportunity with your support.

This year, all of our football helmets were sent to Riddell to be certified by their specialist for safety. They inspect the helmets, face masks, and jaw pads for safety, replace what is needed and reject any helmets they deem not safe or cost prohibited to repair. The helmets are repainted, decals applied and ready for a new 2009 season. Helmet recertification is recommended every two years by the industry. The Wildwood Junior Warriors' primary interest is our children, not only to allow them the opportunity to participate in a sport, but to participate SAFELY. We believe the cost to keep our kids safe is money well spent.

We are inviting you and your fellow business owners to help support the children involved in the Wildwood Junior Warriors program throug monetary donations or your services. Last year we had such service donations as cleaning team uniforms, food and paper good supplies for our concession stand, and radio airtime. We have fund-raisers, such as a beef-n-beer, to help cover expenses as well. Your cash donations help enable us to keep league fees low, allowing many of our children to be able to participate and stay off the streets.
